From the LAISPS Diversity Committee:

The events of the last few days in Israel and Gaza have once again shaken the world and brought heartbreak and terrible fear and sorrow to our community and those in the Middle East.  Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones, to a generation of children who will grow up in the shadow of this ongoing tragedy, to cities and communities who have been shattered and broken, to health care workers killed and traumatized by the scale of the violence and cruelty.  We stand for the sanctity of life, the importance of human dignity and human rights in all communities, and we hold out the hope for peace and the return of sanity and decency in this time of furious rage and murderous hatred.
