LAISPS is a dynamic and forward-thinking organization that provides comprehensive psychoanalytic education to mental health professionals of all levels. As an IPA component society, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and encourages ongoing learning.
Our training programs include a four-year psychoanalytic training program, as well as one-year programs and shorter courses on topics such as psychoanalytic theory, clinical technique, and applied psychoanalysis. We integrate classical Freudian theories with modern and contemporary contributions, including Klein, Fairbairn, Winnicott, Bion, object relations, ego psychology, self psychology, intersubjectivity, and relational analysis.

Four-Year Training Program
The Certificate of Training in Psychoanalysis allows candidates to practice and become members of psychoanalytic societies worldwide, providing access to workshops and conferences to keep up-to-date with the latest developments.

One-Year Programs
Offers one-year courses educating mental health professionals through seminars, conferences, and programs that cover contemporary and theoretical topics including Eating Disorders and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

Programs & Workshops
LAISPS offers three tiers of psychoanalytic education covering contemporary psychoanalysis and its application to culture. These include Scientific Workshops, Psychoanalytic Seminars, and the newest series, Inside Psychoanalysis, available both online and in-person.

Student Society
Offers graduate students and interns an opportunity to explore psychoanalytic thinking in friendly, informal gatherings, and be mentored by clinicians experienced in the field of psychoanalysis.

Offers learning opportunities, professional networking, access to presentations, group consultation, individual consultation sessions, library privileges, and a unique affiliation with the LAISPS community.

Provides affordable psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy conducted by licensed mental health professionals in training, under supervision of senior faculty.
